Gale Weathers - The #1 "Last Girl"?

So this one caught my eye - Women in Horror Month: Top 13 Final Girls posted by But Why Tho? 

So here's the list:

•  #13: Grace, Ready Or Not - Just recently I agreed that Samara Weaving's performance is well done...so yeah...ok.
• #12: Jay Height, It Follows
• #11: Jen, Revenge
• #10: Alexa Woods, Alien Vs. Predator - I don't even remember this movie enough to clearly recall who she was or what she did. Was she the one that fought along side the predator at the end? O_0
• #9: Erin Harson, You’re Next - Good flick, but I wouldn't put her ahead of Samara Weaving.
• #8: Jenn, Sweetheart
• #7: Sarah Carter, The Descent 
• #6: Adelaide Wilson / Red, Us
• #5: Laurie Strode, Halloween Franchise - What?. #5?!
• #4: Jess Bradford, Black Christmas (1974)
• #3: Ellen Ripley, Alien Franchise - Ok why don't we just say Alien and Aliens....because...you know.
• #2: Sidney Prescott, Scream Franchise
• #1: Gale Weathers, Scream Franchise

​I like the Scream movies just as much as anyone else who was in their teens during the Miramax Horror boom. Ghostface has certainly become a horror icon...but c'mon. Sidney and Gale as #2 and #1? The author of the original article seems to be expecting some heat for that. 

In my opinion, especially from these candidates, Laurie Strode should be #1. Not only has she survived Michael through numerous movies and branching timelines, but the latest installment showed us that she is prepared for anything. She knows how to stay one step ahead of Michael and she transformed her house into a deathtrap (though with the coming sequels, perhaps not well enough).
