For you Halloween lovers out there, you should know that tonight marks the halfway point to Halloween. And if that isn't cause enough to celebrate, it is also a holiday in Germanic countries, Walpurgisnacht. Walpurgisnacht (or Hexennacht which means Witches' Night) is the night the witches ride on their broomsticks and gather at the Brocken, the highest peak in the Harz Mountains. Originally named for St. Walburga, who lived in the 8th century whose feast was held on the eve of May Day or Beltane, this night is now celebrated with huge bonfires throughout Germanic Europe. That sounds like a great excuse to spend an evening watching your favorite witchy movies or shows. Not that I need much of an excuse. I've spent the day watching a couple episodes of the old Addam's Family TV show, and Afflicted (read about it here: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/afflicted_2013/). I haven't decided what I'm going to indulge in tonight. So many movies to choose from...
If you're participating in this possibly stormy night of witches, what will you be doing? Let us know in the comments!

A petition has been posted to help Malice Manor become a reality in New Albany, IN. This is a new haunt hoping to open this year. The New Albany / Louisville area is a fantastic destination for haunt enthusiasts so please help make this a reality! The petition can be signed here. We've added a calendar to the site where we'll post various events that are haunt / Halloween / horror related, pretty much anywhere. Feel free to add your own event to this calendar; we're all about promotion here (provided it relates to the criteria above)! Anything tagged with "We'll Be There!" means just that - we plan on being there personally.
HauntedHouseTour's own Donna Ruwe is a friend of Jay Woelfel (filmmaker) who has a new movie titled Asylum of Darness which hits on-demand today. I've already bought my digital copy after watching the trailer. Check out it out below! -Todd We came across a great article featuring Kristen Warf of Louisville's Haunted Hotel. We stopped by to speak with her at Transworld where she was selling the Sinister FX masks mentioned in the article. These masks are legit! Keep up the great work, Kristin!!
