Donna - Sandyland Acres is celebrating its 16th year of Hayride Halloween fun with some additional surprises for the hayride and a longer indoor haunt with some new twists and turns. The owner Gene Webb, works on the haunt layout eight months A year and literally builds the sets himself. That being said, for a small budget operation, this place delivers a truckload of entertainment and provides a full evening of scary fun suitable for all ages. From the moment you climb into the hayride truck and start heading towards the dark cornfield you know you are in for a treat. Nothing is as it seems, creatures and monsters come at you from all directions and even get on the hayride with you. As you slowly progress of the cornfield and down a hill into the woods you encounter a small village of houses. Beware! There are people and monsters hiding all around you coming at you from all directions. You want the hayride to move faster but it’s slowing down and stopping yet again showing you what it’s like to be caught in the woods surrounded by all of your favorite movie monsters. This year I noticed there were more actors and the overall scare factor was higher than in years past.
Farmers Revenge is a small but well laid out indoor haunt with a dark maze including creepy sounds and things that bump you in the night. I can’t give away everything encountered here but it was so much fun I actually wanted to go through again and again!
If you are looking for a fun way to spend a fall evening definitely check out Sandyland Acres either Friday or Saturday nights Open now until October 30. You will not be disappointed!
