We visited Sandyland Acres on a chilly October night with high expectations and were still blown away. This is the 18th year for Gene Webb’s Haunted Hayride and Farmers Revenge barn and every year he continues to deliver shocks, scares and fun entertainment for all. This year he added more actors and more “action scenes” in the out buildings. My favorite addition was a battle between Jason and Michael Myers. The hayride winds around through a dark corn field while a variety of monsters board the wagon to get up close and personal (although they don’t touch you). The scenery in the barn, especially the exorcist scene, was super scary and realistic. The actors did a great job of terrifying and terrorizing people on the hayride. There are several other scares and surprises, but I don’t want to ruin it for anyone by telling you what they are ahead of time just be on the lookout.
The Farmers revenge indoor haunt, had some added actors this year, making it much more enjoyable and fun than in the past. There were a few more jump scares, and the addition of a movable floor that was one of our favorites.
All told, this is one of the best bang for the buck haunts that you will find anywhere in the tri-state area. With the cost of other Haunts going through the roof a single evening can run two people more than $120 where you can do both Haunts here for two people for a total of $60. It’s a great deal and goes to explain why you see cars in the parking lot from as far away as Illinois and Tennessee. The night we were there there were a couple of thousand people standing in line. Get there early.
This is a Frightmaster favorite.
