Lovecraft Country Premiers This Sunday!

   If you have HBO, or if you've been looking for a reason to try out HBO Max, mark your calendars for this Sunday, August 16th. The 10-episode run of Lovecraft Country premiers and I cannot wait. Based on the book by Matt Ruff, the story follows army veteran Atticus Turner on his journey to find his father who has gone missing. Being held captive by a group of occultists in New England, Turner's father is found, however, much more sinister plans are in order. Taking place in the mid 1950s, the story straddles the line between out-worldly horror and the all-too-real state of the period's racial divide in America.
     Having read the book, I'm highly interested to see how the plot is enhanced and stretched to produce a 10-episode mini-series. HBO already gave  us a relatively successful production of Stephen King's "The Outsider," which was not without it's own changes and additions for the small screen.
