2025 Review

Teresa makes some new friends....
Entertainment
Paul - It's just so good! I was engaged and entertained from start to finish, and will absolutely recommend Malice Manor to anyone wanting to visit a haunt. It's dark, creepy, and full of some of the best haunt actors I've encountered in quite a while.
Todd - As noted in regard to the scare factor, whether you find yourself uncomfortable or not within the confined walls of Malice Manor, you will certainly have fun. The plethora of rooms and vibes offer something for everyone. Layered on top of this foundation is a GREAT troupe of actors this year who really breathe the heart and soul into the experience.
Teresa - Great scenes and ambiance? Check! Lots of jump scares? Check! Surprising interactions? Check! Laughs and screams? Check! A great queue area with entertainment (live could be debated)? Check! Vendors outside? Check! Photos and souvenirs? Check! Above all else, it's the creativity of the scenes and actors that really make the place special and entertaining. It is a really fun way to celebrate the spookiest season and I had a blast.
Scare Factor
Paul - I'm not sure how many times I've been through Malice Manor now, but I'd guess at least a dozen. I'm completely confident in saying that this was the scariest trip through the Manor yet. From the actors to the sets, to the lighting and audio- it all works together to create a fantastic haunt experience.
Todd - It's important to note that Malice Manor, while not known to be the most terrifying haunt (scariness is subjective), it continues to be entertaining. You're bound to have a few jump scares, those moments of apprehension and more than likely a few "What the hells?". Few rooms in the haunt offer the comfort of personal space. Whether you like it or not, its offerings are unavoidable and you'll no doubt enjoy your stay.
Teresa - Malice Manor scares in a lot of ways. One of my favorites is through surprise. You really never know what to expect here. And just because you've been through before, don't think that means you know what lies in the next room. They change things up a lot, and it is difficult to tell from which direction the scare might be coming. There are loads of jump scares, and between the props, actors, animatronics, and effects, you just can't be prepared. Things that look like monsters are static props...or are they? I'm still not sure! And things that look like static props might suddenly jump at you. And there's so much to see everywhere you look, that you just don't know where to look until something has already grabbed you. And you can't always see. Sometimes it's too dark. Which brings me to my next favorite reason this place is scary. They touch you. A lot. It isn't overly aggressive, but it is just plain scarier when they don't stop before they reach you, but get close and personal. Those 2 things make this place truly scary.

Actors
Paul - Wow. This crew of actors absolutely killed it this year. Every character we encountered engaged us quickly, was on point with their dialogue, their use of touch was just right, and unlike a lot of places- they kept up their part even after you left their scene. You just don't get that commitment from most crews. The acting flexibility was honestly pretty next level too. You could tell that they weren't just spouting out the same lines over and over, and were actually enjoying playing their roles and coming up with new ways to get under your skin. At one point an actor told me she wanted to use my eyes in her eyeball tiara- Loved it!
Todd - This crew is BURSTING with energy! Not only that, but they're quick on their feet when it comes to interaction. We tend to "play along" with the actors, sometimes asking them questions in context of their scene or their delivery and this team was ON it. If one wasn't manic, they were creepy. If they weren't creepy, they were hilarious. A job well done!
Teresa - The actors are so fantastic! As great as the scenes and effects are (and they are something to behold), the actors are the real spice in this chili. They ARE their characters. They are enthusiastic, interactive, creative, creepy, talented, and boy do they have fun taunting you. And grabbing you. And threatening you. This isn't a "boo crew". This is a house of creepy ghosts and other denizens with their own twisted agendas and they will make you a part of the story. You don't have a choice but to listen to them and interact. I will never forget some of the mental images they conjured. So creepy and entertaining!

Immersion
Paul - The moment you walk through the front door- you're in the world of Malice Manor. The ticket area, the indoor queue, and of course the haunt itself are all designed to keep you locked in. The sets have amazing detail, the costumes and makeup are beautiful, and the creep factor is amazing.
Todd - The Manor is really continuing to solidify its identity. The incredible and gorgeous new facade at the entrance is a perfect icon of this haunt's evolution. Each scene distinguishes itself and lends to what you would expect to find among an old, large estate. It's amazing to see how far things have come since this haunt's freshman year and it's even more exciting to think that this haunt is still in its infancy!
Teresa - This place just keeps evolving. What started as a hodge-podge of great scenes and scary themes is coalescing into a nightmare of a manor, filled with ghosts and evil characters who desperately and fiendishly want to stop you from making it out. It's like each room and hallway is growing in power, becoming more real each year we visit. Each has a character and ambiance of its own, with realistic effects that make you suspend disbelief. Add demented denizens haunting the halls, and it's pretty immersive.

What Makes This Haunt Special
Paul - While I could mention the easy parking, the all-indoor queue, or countless other things... I'm going back to the actors. They should be proud of their performances.

Todd - Nothing cookie cutter about this haunt. It's genuine, made with care. It's run by people who couldn't be more passionate about their craft and encouraging the actors that play within.

Teresa - Continuous improvement. Seriously. They just keep tweaking and changing things and encouraging their haunt family to do the same, so it's different every year. They thrive in this creative environment and we all get to enjoy the heart-pounding show full of new scenes, unexpectedly different old scenes, and actors who really enjoy putting new twisted spins on their menacing chatter. And the touch part is perfect. Scary. But not aggressive where you feel like you're going home with bruises. Just so startling and amps your adrenaline up 6 notches. Don't miss this one!
