Entertainment
Paul - How can you not be entertained?! In addition to one of the best haunts around, you have a really fun queue, a perfect pre-show area, and the Monster Midway at the end to hang out and enjoy a little extra time there. The Dent Schoolhouse is an easy recommendation to anyone looking for a fun Halloween (or Christmas!) night out.
Todd -Would I ever NOT go to Dent? Nope. There are the iconic characters I love to see outside. I'm always intrigued at what new and creative elements will be added to the haunt next year. Another thing to keep in mind is that the midway offers enough activities to extend your experience - escape rooms, axe throwing, food and photo ops.
Teresa - I always look forward to coming to The Dent Schoolhouse every year. This year, the inside was rearranged some and it felt longer than ever. That was always a complaint (that it was over too soon), but in the past few years, they've somehow made it bigger?? Is that possible? I don't know, but that's how it feels. I love every twist, turn, nook, and cranny. Every jump scare, every creative and horrifying scene is even more fun when you see someone new go through for the first time. I had the pleasure of going behind a mom and son this year, and seeing their awed reactions and hearing their screams was beyond entertaining. I love the wait to go in because there is entertainment on the screen and queue actors to scare you and make you laugh. The fall carnival section is the best Halloween decor ever. The Schoolhouse itself is the perfect mix of awe, horror, dread, and frights, and I love the midway after you come out, with its games, souvenirs, refreshments, eye candy, music, and photo ops. Always entertaining!
Donna -The Dent haunted school house is like being in a horror movie with new and terrible scenes that have return. It is a scary ride with something surprising at every turn and something new every year. This year they had a room where a girl was grabbed by a giant snake and pulled up through the ceiling, screaming and kicking. While you were focusing your attention on that, the head of another giant Snake launched out at you from the wall. This was completely unexpected and a very creative addition along with bringing many screams and jump scares from the group..
Scare Factor
Paul - Masters of the high throughput scares. So many fast-reset jumps and quick one-line interactions that manage to keep the people flowing without a constant conga line piling up.
Todd - The Dent Schoolhouse is dark, gritty and grotesque. The mangled children hung throughout, the insidious experiments that take place within and the other evil-centric oddities all culminate to one of the most premier haunts across the land.
Teresa - The Dent Schoolhouse shows you that it doesn't have to be a touch haunt to be scary. It has more jump scares than a pit of vipers (and it may even have some of those). It's got a rather intense atmosphere and it's different every year, so even if you walk through areas you remember, the scares are still quite unexpected. There are sights horrible, dread-inducing, and that will fill you with awe while making your skin crawl. It's visually one of my favorite places to go for really frightening fall flavor. Between the distracting scenes, the plethora of animatronics, the loud noises and disorienting effects, and very committed actors in some very unexpected places, you will feel yourself swept along on adrenaline, once you can get your legs moving again.
Donna - The haunted schoolhouse historically is one of the best haunted houses in the area and possibly in the Midwest. The urban, legend backstory of Charlie, the janitor, school kids going missing, bones found in the basement, whether it’s true or not,  sets the tone and the vibe of the haunt. Every year, the haunt gets longer, and in my opinion, darker with some truly terrifying scenes and a few chuckles thrown in, so we don’t wet our pants on the way through.

Actors
Paul - While somewhat limited interaction as mentioned above, the actors do a great job of keeping you on edge through the entire haunt. Excellent costuming and makeup as well.
Todd - The Dent Schoolhouse has many familiar, branded faces. Charlie, Pumpkin Smasher and Zobo are all Cincinnati familiars. Inside the haunt, you're not likely to run into these icons. Instead, the actors portray students, staff, victims or spirits. Most are ideally positioned for jump scares while a few are roaming. Neither one has much of an opportunity to engage outside of quick one-liner, some of which are more creative than others.
Teresa - The actors at Dent are fantastic. The costumes and makeup are top-notch, and boy do they have some scary skills. The queue actors are tons of fun, always creeping around and messing with you when you least expect it. These guys are consummate entertainers. Inside, you don't dawdle long with any of the characters, but they play their parts with fervor. It really is impressive the energy they have with a haunt this high volume. They love to interact and they are quite creative. One clown girl even noticed my Dent pins I was wearing and had to make sure she was on one of them (she was).
Donna - The actors in the haunted schoolhouse are some of the best in the haunted profession with their own twist or take on the character development, make up and intensity is off the charts. The realistic, unbelievable approach to the character by the actors as surprisingly good, and the impression stays with you long after you leave the haunt.

Immersion
Paul - There isn't a haunt anywhere around here that does it like Dent. You're stuck in their world through the entire schoolhouse, with the actors props, lighting, audio, and animatronics all working perfectly together.
Todd -The Dent is immersive in that it has a fantastic location and theme that has been built up over many years. It has known characters, like Charlie the Janitor and Pumpkin Smasher who have presences beyond the walls of Dent. The scenes are very detailed, the effects are fantastic, and it's so packed with horrible things to see and experience, that you really don't have time to come out of your terrified mental state before the next thing gets you. You just keep moving before you become another victim.

Donna - This is the only aspect that I felt was a bit lacking this year because of being more or less rushed through because of the group in front of us and the group in back of us wanting to almost jog through the haunt leaving little time for interaction with the individual actors or Rooms. It was hard to slow down and take everything in when you had a group behind you pushing you forward at every turn. Since they weren’t that crowded I feel they should have put more time in between groups so you don’t get stuck in the conga line and rushed from room to room leaving little time to take in all of the details of the scene or the total immersion experience.

What Makes This Haunt Special
Paul - It's been said many times already, but the build here is almost unbelievable. It's just so perfect.

Todd - Simply put, The Dent Schoolhouse is next-level in its presentation and a pillar of the haunt industry.

Teresa - The Dent Schoolhouse is a perfect blend of terrifying visuals, effects, and jump scares. This isn't something your neighbor does in his yard haunt, or that little charity haunt you acted in when you were in high school. This is truly awe-inspiring, if you can take time to admire it. Every part of this place is pro-level and then some. It's an intense walk-through, but it is so memorable. You hear plenty of screams, but also lots of, "WOW!", and, "that was so cool!", "did you see that?!", "how did they do that?!" and so on. Kudos to the designers, builders, make-up artists, actors, and all involved in making this place what it is.

Donna -  The venue for this haunt is what makes it so amazing. Built in 1894 as an actual schoolhouse and with the addition of the terrifying urban legend of the children going missing and bones found in the basement with evidence pointing to a somewhat sketchy janitor who was found living in the basement of the school house set the tone before you even go through the old wooden door.
